To be eligible for a scholarship you must have first completed the School Application and the Tuition Assistance (financial aid) application processes.
Shepherd Valley Waldorf School One Action, Boulder County Scholarship, is part of a strategic initiative to very consciously align some new activities with the school’s three pillars: Educating Children, Cultivating Community and Environmental Stewardship. As a component of our Cultivating Community pillar, the scholarship is also inspired by Boulder County’s initiative One Action, One Boulder (OAOB) that was kicked off on Martin Luther King, Jr. day. The OAOB initiative is calling on all citizens to learn about the county’s history of racial and econo
mic injustice and work towards a transformation of society. There are several components to the program, including a Call to Action, encouraging community members to take one significant action to create a more equitable community.
The spirit of the school’s new scholarship program is based on the Call to Action, to help contribute in a meaningful way to a more equitable community; and we recognize the value in increasing diversity. We are beginning by offering five scholarships that will cover up to 100% of tuition, with families being responsible for other fees for materials, field trips, equipment rental, etc. While the scholarships are our response to the Call to Action, we are not receiving any funds, but instead are forgiving tuition, as we do with our tuition asssitance. The scholarships will be open to all families: current, past and new and are based on financial need and commitment to Waldorf Education.
Waldorf education is a privilege that is made possible by the hard work, dedication and generosity of everyone involved. We absolutely recognize that just as the school and faculty and staff stretch to make this education possible, parents do too, and we offer these scholarships with the intent of making a Waldorf Education accessible to as many people as possible.
