Shepherd Valley Campus Master Plan
In the Fall of 2010, a Design Team was hired to design a Campus Master Plan that will incorporate our entire 33 acres and will include facilities expansion and land management. The Design Team is working closely with our Faculty and Staff and parents to develop a plan that will reflect who we are as a community and our unique position as stewards of 33 acres of land.
Our Campus Design Team is pleased to present the following proposed Campus Master Plan, including background information on our campus and acreage.
For more information about the Campus Master Plan, please contact the school office. We would be happy to talk with you about the future of our school!
Shepherd Valley is excited about our new partnership with the Boulder County Farmer Cultivation Center. We have broken ground on our land developing a vegetable farm and garden with a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) opportunity open to all families associated with the school.
The mission of the Boulder County Farmer Cultivation Center is to bridge the gap between farmer education (classroom, informal farm internships, etc.) and successful farm business via a two year hands-on and academic internship. The expected outcome is to increase the number and diversity of new successful farmers and sustainable farms in Boulder County each year.
Shepherd Valley Waldorf School also partners with Black Cat Farm, a local organic farm. Black Cat Farm was created by Chef Eric Skokan and Black Cat Restaurants to supply the restaurant with just-picked organic produce that is the pinnacle of freshness and flavor. The partnership with Black Cat Farm and Shepherd Valley Waldorf School allows the farm to grow vegetables and pasture animals on the campus. For more information, visit www.blackcatfarm.org
