Advent
Advent is from the Latin “adventus”, the arrival or the coming in of the spirit of joy and
peace. This is a time to reflect on the past year and looking forward to the coming year.
For children, it is a time of waiting and anticipation. Each Monday morning during
Advent, the children are gathered together for a special story and lighting of candles.
Each Advent week is represented by one of the four kingdoms: mineral, plant, animal
and human kingdom
